For years I used watches, apps, and all kinds of tools to try to understand my rest better.

Like many people, I got used to looking at charts every morning.

Hours slept.

Sleep stages.

Scores.

Trends.

Comparisons.

And yet, something was still missing.

I remember many mornings when an app told me I had slept well, but I felt exhausted.

And also the opposite.

Days when the score was not especially good and, even so, I woke up with energy and the feeling that I had rested.

Over time I realized that the problem was not the amount of data.

In fact, I probably had more data than I needed.

What I was missing was context.

Charts could tell me how long I had slept.

But they could not remind me that a particular week had been especially stressful.

They did not know that I had spent several days worried about something.

They did not know that I had eaten late.

They did not know that I was going through a calm period in which I simply felt better.

And a few weeks later I was unable to remember many of those things.

I could check a chart.

But I could not remember how I had actually lived through those days.

Little by little, I began to miss something very simple.

I did not need more metrics.

I needed a way to record my own experience.

A note.

An impression.

A small reminder of how I had felt after waking up.

Something that helped me answer a question no chart seemed to answer completely:

How was I really doing during that period?

Liroa was born from that idea.

Not to compete with watches.

Not to replace tracking apps.

And certainly not to tell anyone how they should sleep.

It was born because I wanted a more human way to look back.

A way to keep small observations that normally disappear after a few days.

Over time I discovered something curious.

Individual nights rarely tell an interesting story.

The interesting part appears when you bring together weeks or months.

When you begin to recognize patterns.

When you remember contexts.

When you read a note you had forgotten.

When you understand that resting does not always mean the same thing.

Liroa does not try to tell you how you are.

It does not try to give you a score.

It does not try to turn your rest into a competition.

It simply tries to help you remember.

Because sometimes understanding how we have been starts with something as simple as not forgetting how we felt.

And that was the reason I decided to build it.
